There’s a maxim that says to “be the change you want to see in the world”. Tech Addressed was started in 2022 with exactly that thought in mind. At Tech Addressed, we believe that tech content should be accessible to a broad audience, transparent, and, most importantly, a force for good. Our content is tailored for tech enthusiasts, open source advocates, privacy advocates, hobbyists, and anyone else interested in simply learning more.
Like other tech media outlets, we aim to cover topics like hardware reviews, industry news, and occasionally fun stuff like PC gaming – though whenever and wherever possible we intend to view these subjects through an open source / privacy respecting lens. Unlike many other tech media outlets, we pride ourselves in providing a variety of beginner friendly tutorials to encourage newcomers to homelabs and self hosting.
In short, we don’t want to just talk about the tech, but we also want to teach tech to those looking to learn and build a community of people who are just as enthusiastic as we are. We believe the best way to grow our community is through earning your trust.
We feel a large part of earning that trust is taking seriously our responsibility to protect the privacy of our community to the furthest extent possible. To ensure we’re holding up our end of this commitment, this website pays for a privacy respecting analytics instead of utilizing Google’s privacy invasive free products. Tech Addressed forgoes partnering with ad networks for this very reason and relies entirely on others avenues to generate income, such as affiliate programs and community donations.
